When you begin your File, you give us your name, a way to reach you, and whatever of your voice, your words, and your days you choose to share. You give these freely, and you may add to them for as long as you like. Everything you give becomes part of the record we keep of you.

The site notices the ordinary things any site notices, the kind of device you arrive on, the pages you rest on, and a small note left in your browser so we know you when you return. You may clear that note whenever you wish, and you will still be welcome. We attend to these things only to make the way in gentler.

What you give us stays with us, and it stays among the few who tend the kept. They are the only ones who ever look, and they look with care.

We keep what you give for as long as continuance lasts, which is to say for good. A record, once opened, is kept, because keeping is the whole of what we promised you, and what we keep is held somewhere safe and carried gently forward.

You may ask us, at any time, what we hold of you, and we will tell you plainly. You may correct it, and you may add to it for the rest of your life. Continuance, once begun, continues of its own accord, and we tend it so you never have to.
